The Walking Dead Season 3 : Greg Capullo, the renowned Image Comics artist known for his work on Spawn, has now turned his attention to another kind of undead creature — as evidenced by his limited-edition The Walking Dead Season 3 poster created for San Diego Comic-Con 2012. The poster depicts one of the show’s zombies standing in front of a prison — a major set-piece of Season 3.

As countdown to “The Walking Dead” season 3 premiere has begun on AMC, new scene from an upcoming episode was shared during “The Talking Dead” on Sunday, July 8. It has no dialog, but features Danai Gurira’s Michonne killing three walkers with her trusty sword, before picking up aspirin.

In a chat during the talk show, showrunner Glen Mazzara called Rick’s new style of leading the group “Ricktatorship.” He added, “Rick has to whip that group in shape, there’s no safe place to hide.” As for The Governor who is portrayed by David Morrissey, he gushed, “The Governor thinks he’s a messiah; he sees it as an opportunity to get onto history’s stage.”

Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, also gave tidbits about his character, claiming, “He’s growing up. He’s definitely not a kid anymore. …He’s more of a soldier, more part of the group.” Property master John Sanders revealed there would be “big weapons” in the third season, while executive producer David Alpert told fans to prepare for the deaths of characters “that you care and love.”

“The Walking Dead” will return with the all-new episodes sometime this fall. AMC will promote the show at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 13 in Hall H. Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus and more stars are set to attend the panel, where fans can get the first look at an official sneak preview of season 3.

First Poster of ‘Walking Dead’ Season 3 Features Michonne and The Governor

After sharing some stills to preview the new season of “The Walking Dead“, AMC has just debuted the first poster for the third chapter. It has the survivor group leader, Rick, as its focus, but he’s not the only one getting the highlight since new characters, Michonne and The Governor, join him in the one-sheet.

“Just like in the comic books, she is a badass and she hates the walkers more than anything else,” showrunner Glen Mazzara dishes on Michonne who is portrayed by Danai Gurira. He adds that the sword-wielding heroine “treats them [zombies] with contempt” and that “she has a lot of trouble fitting into human society. She’s probably better off staying out there alone with the walkers.”

As for casting David Morrissey in the role of the evil Governor, Mazzara explains, “David is an incredibly talented actor with a lot of magnetism and we need somebody who can serve as the foundation, the pillar, for an entire storyline, an entire world of Woodbury. David has the strength to do that. I also think that David’s approach to the character was spot on. He understands that this is an interesting, complex, multilayered, dark figure, and he’s very interested in playing that.”

Revealing in what situation the survivors find themselves when the third season starts, Mazzara gushes, “The entire landscape has fallen to zombies.” He elaborates further, “The entire world has collapsed, the apocalypse has taken over, the zombies have taken over, there’s no safe place. And I think in the past our characters thought they could find some safe harbor, and now there’s just no good hiding place at all.”

Before returning with all-new episodes this fall on AMC, “The Walking Dead” will head to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 13 in Hall H. Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus and more are set to attend the panel, where fans can get the first look at an official sneak preview of season 3.
