‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Episode 4 Preview: Does Andrea Betray Rick and His Group?

Whether or not Andrea and Michonne will blend with people in Woodbury remains a question in an upcoming episode of “The Walking Dead“. A preview for the next outing sees Andrea having a toast with the Governor and possibly telling Merle about where they can find the farm which used to be Rick and the survivors’ safe haven.

On the other hand, Michonne seemingly raises a suspicion over the Governor after she finds blood on a vehicle and wants to leave the place. “I’d rather take my chances out there than stay here,” she tells Andrea, although the Governor says to the sword-wielding heroine, “We could use a soldier like you.”

In the prison, zombies are walking into the yard after someone leaves the gate open. Rick is once again left furious when the prisoners that were supposed to stay in the other cell block are wandering into his area.

Meanwhile, a clip hints that Glenn and Maggie grow more comfortable with the new place as they spend a lot of time together in the guard tower.

Killer Within” will air Sunday, November 4 at 9/8c on AMC.

In the latest episode which aired October 21, Rick showed that he’s no longer hesitant to kill a human when he took the life of Tomas. Speaking of the character’s transformation, showrunner Glen Mazzara explained, “That’s a very, very different Rick than we’ve seen in the past. That’s a very telling kill and I think tells us who Rick is for the season.”

TNT has given a greenlight to Frank Darabont’s first project following his resignation as “The Walking Dead” showrunner. Previously known as “L.A. Noir”, the currently untitled period drama has been picked up to series and ordered for a total of six episodes.

Based on John Buntin’s book “L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City”, the series chronicles the epic battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen. It is described as a fast-paced crime drama which is set in Los Angeles during the 1940s and ’50s.

“This series is an intense, exciting drama that takes viewers back to a truly fascinating time in the history of Los Angeles,” says Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT. “Frank Darabont, Michael De Luca and Elliott Webb have delivered an outstanding opening episode that evokes the time and place in stunning detail.”

Darabont wrote and directed the pilot, while Alissa Phillips (“Moneyball”) serves as co-executive producer. Jon Bernthal, who previously worked with Darabont on “Walking Dead”, takes a role of Joe Teague, an ex-Marine now working as an LAPD cop. Another “Walking Dead” alum Jeffrey DeMunn joins the cast as Det. Hal Morrison, who heads up the LAPD’s new mob squad.

Jeremy Strong stars as Det. Mike Hendry who is Morrison’s second in command, Neal McDonough plays Capt. William Parker who is Teague’s boss, and Milo Ventimiglia portrays Ned Stax, who fought alongside Teague during World War II but now works as a lawyer with connections to the mob. The pilot will additionally feature Simon Pegg who guest stars as a third-rate comedian and mob hanger-on.

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Premiere Breaks Ratings Records

The Walking Dead” shattered records with its third season premiere. The recently-aired episode titled “Seed” delivered 10.9 million viewers for its first telecast, making it the most-watched drama series telecast in basic cable history.

The viewership grew more than 50% from October 2011 when 7.3 million viewers tuned in the show’s second season premiere. When the encore telecast is accounted, the total viewer number for the season 3 premiere rises to 15.2 million.

More impressive than that, the Sunday, October 14 outing scored a 5.8 rating among adults 18-49. It’s higher than any entertainment programs this fall, surpassing “Modern Family” season 4 premiere that pulled a 5.5 rating.

Charlie Collier, president of AMC, states when announcing the horror series’ achievement, “Thank you to the fans for making ‘The Walking Dead’ such a tremendous success. We are honored and humbled that television’s largest adult audience resides on AMC. So many people on both sides of the camera worked tirelessly on this project, and I thank and congratulate each of them for their amazing contribution.”

The first episode of the season opened with bloody and action-packed scenes as the survivors killed the walkers. Explaining their reason to present such story, executive producer Robert Kirkman said, “Going back and doing quieter stories with less zombies just didn’t seem like the right move. So we decided to plow ahead and make things a little more high octane.”

The Walking Dead” airs every Sunday at 9 P.M. ET on AMC. Since the network has been in a dispute with DISH, the zombie apocalypse show no longer plays on the satellite broadcaster.
