The Walking Dead Season 5: New Photos of Carol and Rick

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on The Walking Dead Season 5: New Photos of Carol and Rick

Two new images from Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” have been released and they paint very different pictures. They come after the very scary photo of Daryl, beaten, bound and gagged.

Both images come from EW, with the first showing Rick. The blood on his face doesn’t look fresh, but he has definitely seen better days. After Season 4 ended with him and several others being taken prisoner, things don’t seem to be looking up for Rick.

The second photo, featuring Carol holding baby Judith, looks far more peaceful. While the two definitely aren’t safe in the zombie apocalypse, they do look quite a bit more relaxed than Rick can possible be. At least none of them are walkers yet.

“The Walking Dead” Season 5 premieres Sunday, Oct. 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.

The Walking Dead Actress Gets 18 Years in Prison for mailing Ricin to President Obama

A Texas actress who sent ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and the New York City mayor then tried to blame the crime on her soon-to-be ex-husband was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Wednesday.

A federal judge gave Shannon Guess
Richardson, 36, the maximum sentence under her plea deal on a federal charge of possessing and producing a biological toxin. Richardson was also ordered to pay restitution of about $367,000. She had pleaded guilty to the charge in December.

“I never intended for anybody to be hurt,” she told the court, adding later, “I’m not a bad person; I don’t have it in me to hurt anyone.”

Richardson said she thought security measures would prevent anyone from opening the letters addressed to Obama and the now-former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Prosecutors say Richardson mailed three letters, then went to police and claimed that her estranged husband had done it. She was arrested last June after authorities said she tried to implicate her husband, who had filed for divorce.

Richardson acknowledged in a signed plea agreement that she ordered castor beans online and learned how to process them into a substance used to make ricin. She obtained an email address, a PayPal shopping account and a post office box in her husband’s name without his knowledge, according to the document.

On the morning of May 20, 2013, she said she waited for her husband Nathan Richardson to go to work.

“After he left the house, I printed the mailing labels for President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Mark Glaze with The Raben Group,” she said in the document. At the time, Glaze was director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Bloomberg’s group advocating for tougher gun control.

The letter to Obama read, “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president,” according to the document. “You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”

After mailing the letters, she admitted to trying to blame her husband and lying to authorities.

Richardson performed minor roles in the television series The Walking Dead and the movie The Blind Side. She also is the mother of six children — including one born prematurely while she was in custody.

In asking the judge for leniency Wednesday, Richardson apologized and asked for “mercy and compassion,” saying that she’d already been “punished dearly” by being away from her six children, who she described as “her world.”

“The sentiments expressed in those letters were not mine,” Richardson said.

Richardson’s attorney, Tonda Curry, said her client was “exuding desperation to get out of the situation she was in.”

The Walking Dead – Season 5 – Promotional Photo of Daryl

“If Daryl dies, we riot” has been a familiar refrain from fans of the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon. That means Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman could have a melee on his hands if he does indeed off Daryl as he promised on Entertainment Weekly Radio (although we’re pretty sure he was kidding). Regardless, Dixon devotees are likely to gasp at this exclusive new image from season 5 of the zombie drama, which returns in October on AMC.

The Walking Dead” is not returning until this fall, but fans can get a sneak peek at the upcoming fifth season through some newly-released featurettes. Taking viewers behind the scenes of the hit series, one of the videos shows the cast and crew on the first day of filming for the new season.

Star Andrew Lincoln says the season opener is the “most ambitious first episode” they’ve ever attempted. Norman Reedus gushes, “It’s one of those scripts that every couple of pages you’re just like, ‘Oh my God,’ and you have to put it down for a second and you have to just think about it,” while Steven Yeun calls it “a great welcome to the season.”

Executive producer Robert Kirkman adds that season 5 will “hit the ground running” and “that we definitely start this season in an up cycle.” Another cast member, Chad Coleman, uses the word “Wow” to describe the first episode.

On what season 5 has to offer to audience, Lincoln teases, “It’s gonna be messy, it’s gonna be brutal. It’s gonna be thrilling.” He additionally reveals that in the upcoming chapter, everyone has to figure out their place in the group.

The second video features the cast and executive producers sharing their favorite explosions, zombie kills, and more from the past seasons.

Those who missed the first four seasons of the zombie drama series can catch up with the story before the season 5 premiere as AMC has announced the “Dead, White & Blue” weekend, during which it will air seasons one through four of the show starting Friday, July 4 at 9 A.M.
