Watch The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 1 No Sanctuary

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 1 No Sanctuary: “The band is back together,” declares Andrew Lincoln of Season 5, which finds the survivors (mostly) reunited at Terminus and feeling… a bit out of sorts. As showrunner Scott M. Gimple notes, “All of these people have had really different journeys to Terminus, and, as a result, they’re different people than they were. It’s decidedly more intense than coming back to high school after summer vacation.” There’s also the small fact that their current hosts are psychopaths with a likely predilection for cannibalism who, in the closing minutes of the finale, locked the gang inside a train car. The premiere picks up a few hours into their ordeal and features “the most intense six minutes” in Walking Dead history, declares Gimple. “It gets very intense very quick, very terrifying very quick.” Beyond the opener, look for Rick and Michonne’s still-platonic relationship to deepen. “The importance of who they are to each other grows, and that emotional intimacy gets developed even more,” says the EP, before quickly adding, “That doesn’t necessarily mean [it will turn into a] romance.” Loosely translated: It doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t!

“The premiere plays with time in some interesting ways,” teases Gimple. “The characters’ storylines crisscross in the timeline.”

RETURN DATE | Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9/8c (AMC)

The Walking Dead Actress Gets 18 Years in Prison for mailing Ricin to President Obama

A Texas actress who sent ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and the New York City mayor then tried to blame the crime on her soon-to-be ex-husband was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Wednesday.

A federal judge gave Shannon Guess
Richardson, 36, the maximum sentence under her plea deal on a federal charge of possessing and producing a biological toxin. Richardson was also ordered to pay restitution of about $367,000. She had pleaded guilty to the charge in December.

“I never intended for anybody to be hurt,” she told the court, adding later, “I’m not a bad person; I don’t have it in me to hurt anyone.”

Richardson said she thought security measures would prevent anyone from opening the letters addressed to Obama and the now-former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Prosecutors say Richardson mailed three letters, then went to police and claimed that her estranged husband had done it. She was arrested last June after authorities said she tried to implicate her husband, who had filed for divorce.

Richardson acknowledged in a signed plea agreement that she ordered castor beans online and learned how to process them into a substance used to make ricin. She obtained an email address, a PayPal shopping account and a post office box in her husband’s name without his knowledge, according to the document.

On the morning of May 20, 2013, she said she waited for her husband Nathan Richardson to go to work.

“After he left the house, I printed the mailing labels for President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Mark Glaze with The Raben Group,” she said in the document. At the time, Glaze was director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Bloomberg’s group advocating for tougher gun control.

The letter to Obama read, “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president,” according to the document. “You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”

After mailing the letters, she admitted to trying to blame her husband and lying to authorities.

Richardson performed minor roles in the television series The Walking Dead and the movie The Blind Side. She also is the mother of six children — including one born prematurely while she was in custody.

In asking the judge for leniency Wednesday, Richardson apologized and asked for “mercy and compassion,” saying that she’d already been “punished dearly” by being away from her six children, who she described as “her world.”

“The sentiments expressed in those letters were not mine,” Richardson said.

Richardson’s attorney, Tonda Curry, said her client was “exuding desperation to get out of the situation she was in.”

The Walking Dead Season 5 – Cast News – Seth Gilliam as Regular

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on The Walking Dead Season 5 – Cast News – Seth Gilliam as Regular

With the body count on The Walking Dead consistently high, the AMC zombie drama is always in need of reinforcements. Enter The Wire alum Seth Gilliam, who has joined Walking Dead as a new series regular for Season 5. He will play a character listed on the breakdown as Michael Todd, though his real name is being kept under wraps. (Maybe fans could recognize a character from the graphic novel in the description – Father Gabriel?) Michael is described as having two sides, displaying a friendly, puckish humor but also having a haunted side stemming from a dark secret. Gilliam, repped by Gersh and Bob McGowan of McGowan Management, first got on AMC’s radar with a recurring role on the 2012 untitled Lagravenese/Goldwyn pilot, which was subsequently picked up to series by sister channel WEtv. He has been recurring on another series, MTV’s Teen Wolfwhich he is expected to continue to do while co-starring on Walking Dead.

Syfy, having already announced adaptations of Frank Miller’s Ronin and Oni’s Letter 44, is apparently also getting into the Robert Kirkman business.

The Wrap is reporting that the Walking Dead creator is bringing David Schulner’s graphic novel Clone to the network – to be developed into a new drama series.

Clone follows “a retired soldier, Luke Taylor, who discovers a man who burglarized his home is a clone of himself. He is drawn into a vast government conspiracy when his wife is kidnapped, and must use his combat skills and military contacts to uncover a secret biotech program.”

The series will be written by Schulner and executive produced by Kirkman and Schulner.
